Sears is closing 150 stores nationwide, one store is in Las Vegas, according to a article in Business Insider.

The store closing in Las Vegas is a Kmart store located at 10405 S. Eastern Avenue in Henderson.

The closures include a combination of Kmart and Sears stores.

Police arrest man accused of multiple robberies in Henderson, Las Vegas

Daniel Andrews was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with multiple robberies in Henderson and Las Vegas.

Henderson Police said, on Dec. 5 just before 8 p.m., Andrews entered the Jack in the Box at 5 S. Gibson Rd. with a gun and demanded money.

A second robbery occurred on Dec. 14 at about 9:10 p.m., when Andrews entered the Outback Steakhouse at 521 N. Stephanie St. and did the same thing, police said.

On Dec. 20 at about midnight, the same suspect entered the In-N-Out Burger at 1051 W. Sunset Rd. where he again demanded money while showing a gun. Henderson Police said Andrews also hit PT's Pub at 10075 S. Eastern Ave around 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 22.

During several of the robberies, Andrews drove a 2002 Silver Ford Focus during several of the robberies. No one was injured during the robberies.

Nevada's first urban drone testing site breaks ground in Henderson

Henderson city officials broke ground Wednesday on the state's first urban drone testing site on the campus of Nevada State College.

This has been a long time in the making.

It's a joint effort between Henderson, Nevada State College and the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems. Today, they unveiled plans for the aptly named Henderson Unmanned Vehicle Range or HUVR.

"It's really an industry that's taking off," said Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen.

There was a buzz in the air as drones flew high in the sky at the groundbreaking of the state's first urban drone testing site.

Bicyclist killed in crash at Warms Springs and Eastern

A bicyclist is dead following a crash at the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Eastern Avenue.

According to Metro police, a woman on her bike was trying to cross Eastern heading west when she was struck by a truck making a right hand turn. The crash happened around 7:37 a.m.

Part of the intersection was closed for about three hours while police investigated.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. The driver is not expected to face any charges, police said... Read More

Identity released of man shot, killed near Tropicana and Jones

The name of the man shot and killed near in west Las Vegas after he interrupted gangs writing graffiti was released Wednesday.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified 18-year-old Richard Ares as the victim.

The shooting happened in the 5000 block of Duneville St. near W. Tropicana and S. Jones Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ares suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Ares was taken to University Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Metro said Ares likely interrupted gang graffiti near the apartment complex before he was chased and shot.

Officers say they're searching for three suspects who likely fled in a Black Honda Civic from the Sedona Ridge Apartments.

Police search for convenience store robbery suspect

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed two valley convenience stores.

According to Henderson police, the first robbery happened around 11:25 p.m. on December 16th at a store near W. Horizon Ridge Parkway and West Horizon Drive.

The suspect walked up to the clerk, opened his jacket, and displayed a large knife, said police. The suspect then handed a plastic bag to the clerk and told her to fill it with money.

A similar robbery happened at another convenience store near I-515 and E. Russell Road around 12:15 a.m. on December 11th.

Police describe the suspect as a white or Hispanic man in his 30s. He is 5'8'' and about 180 pounds. The suspect also has a distinctive dark goatee.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie under a tan jacket, blue jeans, blue tennis shoes, yellow gloves and black sunglasses, said police. ... Read More

BREAKING: Henderson man died of multiple stab wounds

The Clark County Coroner's office said the victim found dead in a Henderson home died of multiple stab wounds.

Coroner officials identified the victim Wednesday afternoon as 76-year-old Leroy Pelton. He was found dead Saturday around 7:30 p.m. inside a home in the 2500 block of Swans Chance Avenue. He was a former UNLV professor.

Neighbors requested a welfare check after the man had not been seen or heard from since early November.
