Henderson Police looking for man and 2 women connected to officer-involved shooting

Henderson Police are looking to interview two women connected to an officer-involved shooting that occurred near Windmill Parkway and N. Pecos Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that on Sunday night at approximately 8:10 p.m., a patrol officer came into contact with three people that were involved in suspicious activity in the 2600 block of Windmill Parkway.

During the investigation, the suspects ignored the officer's commands and an altercation occurred after a second officer arrived to assist.

Henderson Police say a man entered the driver's side of a Toyota where a woman was seated in the front passenger seat.

The suspect driver, now identified as 27-year-old, Larry Calvert, drove over the officer's foot as well as striking him and the assisting officer with the vehicle as he was trying to flee the area.

One of the officers fired his service weapon several times, but it's unclear if anyone in the car was hit by the gunfire.

Calvert faces two charges of Battery with a Deadly Weapon against the officers.

The officers, who sustained minor injuries, were treated at the scene.

The woman in the passenger seat was identified as 26-year-old Marcella Levia.

Police said another woman who fled on foot has been identified as 26-year-old Summer Waters.

At this time, it is unknown if Calvert or the female passenger, Levia, were injured during the incident.

Police want to interview both women about the incident.

The suspect vehicle has been identified as a black 1998 Toyota Camry bearing California license plates, "4BSC566".

This is the first officer-involved shooting in Henderson Police's jurisdiction for 2018.

The name of the officer involved will be released after 48 hours per department policy and is on paid leave pending the investigation.
