Man arrested for allegedly shooting, killing man near Wigwam and Gibson

Henderson Police arrested a man suspected in a deadly near Wigwam Parkway and S. Gibson Road.

According to officers, the call from people reporting a man down in the desert near the 1200 block of Wigwam Parkway came in Wednesday around 1:45 p.m. Witnesses told police someone in a black SUV had dumped the body.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an African American man with what they believed to be a gunshot wound to the chest area.

Through active investigation and follow up, detectives identified a black SUV associated with the incident at an address located in the 1000 block of Fish Pond Avenue in Henderson. Further investigating revealed that the shooting may have been drug-related.

The suspect, 38-year-old Ryan Small, was arrested by officers Wednesday night.

Small was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on the charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office at a later date.
