Henderson Looking for Artists to Transform Hubcaps

The City of Henderson is looking for artists of all ages and skill levels to be part of the 2nd annual Super Run Hubcap Art Gallery.

The gallery will be part of the Super Run car show set for the end of September. The hubcap art will be on display inside the Henderson Convention Center Friday, September 27 through Sunday September 29.

The hubcaps are only $5 and can be purchased now through Wednesday, August 28 at the Henderson Convention Center. Applications for the show are available at hendersonlive.com.

Artists can donate their artwork for a silent auction with all proceeds going to City Lights Youth Scholarship Fund, a college scholarship for Henderson high school graduates seeking a fine arts degree.

Chris O'Rourke will be the featured artist at this year's Hubcap Art Gallery. He is an up-and-coming local artist who is spending the summer building a large abstract metal sculpture using dozens of hubcaps.

The Super Run attracts more than 100,000 people to the Henderson Events Plaza. It features 1,000 vintage vehicles, hot rods and muscle cars along with live entertainment, kids zone and competitions.

Admission to spectators is free.
