Residents are invited to explore their family’s history through an introduction to the art of heraldry, which is the study and identification of family emblems and coats of arms.
An Introduction to Heraldry workshop will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10, at Valley View Recreation Center, 500 Harris St. Registration is $14 per person for ages 18 and up. The workshop presents the medieval art form of heraldry with a touch of humor. Participants can explore the myths, histories and meaning of family coats of arms, and learn how to begin their own research.
