Henderson Police Team with New Technology to Reduce Crime
Henderson Police Department is teaming up with a new website to help keep a better eye on crime.
The site is called AlertID.com. It offers almost instant communication between the community and police departments. When users sign up they can tell police about what is going on in their neighborhood and police can let them know incidents officers are working. The tool also allows neighbors to talk to each other about safety issues.
AlertID also lets you sign up for email and text alerts to let people know about emergency situations like a missing child or a national threat.
“I would encourage all Henderson residents to sign up for this free online service that can truly help keep our neighborhoods safer,” Henderson Police Chief Jutta Chambers said. “This is a powerful tool to get residents involved in looking after their families and their neighbors.”Henderson Police is the first law enforcement group in southern Nevada to participate in the online community watch program. For more information or to sign up go to alertid.com.
