Seven Henderson businesses were busted by police over the weekend for selling alcohol to minors.

Henderson Police conducted checks of underage alcohol compliance at stores to help ensure that minors are not able to buy alcoholic beverages. Officers from the Community Relations Unit, with the assistance of underage volunteers, checked 74 convenience stores, grocery stores and liquor stores throughout the city of Henderson Saturday night. Of the 74 businesses, 67 did not sell alcohol to the underage person.

The businesses that failed were:

  • Shell Station, 500 Conestoga Way
  • Albertson’s, 190 N. Boulder Highway
  • 7-Eleven, 870 E. Lake Mead Parkway
  • Shell Station, 902 S. Boulder Highway
  • Shortline Express, 26 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway
  • GV Grocery #12 , 2599 Wigwam Parkway
  • Albertson’s, 2650 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway

The clerks were issued a citation for serving an underage person and face a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine. The owners or managers of a business that fails a second or third time can also be issued a citation and could face the revocation of their business license.
