Henderson Police Arrest Two Men in Connection with Crime Spree

Henderson Police have arrested two men, and are seeking a third, that they say were involved in a crime spree that lasted nearly three months. Police say the men robbed several gas station convenience stores and then a casino.

The Criminal Apprehension Team arrested 21-year-old Kevin Gamboa of Henderson Wednesday at a home off Boulder Highway. He was booked on seven counts of robbery with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The second suspect in the case, 30-year-old Max Paez of Henderson, was arrested in June on charges unrelated to the crime spree. He has now been charged with various counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection with the spree.

Detectives are seeking an arrest warrant for a third suspect.

The robbery spree started in April. Police say one of the men would go into a gas station convenience store wearing a bandana over his face. He would point a gun at the clerk and demand money. At least six convenience stores were robbed the same way between April, May and early June.

Police say the suspects then turned to robbing a Henderson casino. Detectives say a suspect, who was wearing the same bandana over his face, ran into the Club Fortune Casino May 30. The suspect had a gun and demanded money from the cashier’s cage.

Police say the suspect in the robbery at the casino was wearing the same clothing as a suspect in a robbery at a convenience store a week earlier. The Club Fortune Casino was robbed two more times on June 6 and July 2.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robberies is urged to call Henderson Police at 267-4750, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
