Las Vegas Man Arrested for Peddling Counterfeit Goods

A Las Vegas man is under arrest on charges of peddling counterfeit high-end clothing.

Henderson Police arrested 44-year-old Gregory D. Jones on 13 felony counts of selling, displaying or advertising goods with false trademarks.

Detectives found Jones through a online classified advertisement that offered True Religion clothing for low prices. Detectives set up a meeting with the suspect to buy a pair of jeans, a Gucci belt and a Michael Kors purse for $200, which is well below the actual price for the items made by the designers.

Once the items were bought, detectives determined they were counterfeit. Police served a search warrant for Jones home and at a store on the 300 block of East Warm Springs Road.

According to police, they found several hundred pieces of clothing and accessories that they believe are counterfeit.

Henderson Police say they counterfeit clothing is not a victimless crime, because the sale of the merchandise can often fund criminal organizations.
