Mayweather Court Date in Las Vegas Postponed
Crime

LAS VEGAS --  Trial has been postponed to Sept. 1 for Floyd Mayweather Jr. on a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from allegations he poked a homeowner security guard in the face during an argument outside Mayweather's Las Vegas home.

Clark County District Court spokeswoman Mary Ann Price said Mayweather didn't appear in person Monday while his lawyer asked a Las Vegas justice of the peace to push back the trial date.

The 34-year-old undefeated professional boxer also faces a court date later this week on unrelated and more serious felony charges stemming from a domestic argument with his ex-girlfriend and two of their children last September.

The misdemeanor case stems from allegations Mayweather poked the 21-year-old association guard during an argument in November about parking tickets in the gated community where Mayweather lives.
