Henderson Celebrates the Holidays with WinterFest | Events
The city of Henderson is celebrating the holiday season with its annual Winterfest starting Thursday.
This year's Winterfest will turn back the clock with its theme: an old-fashioned Christmas delight.
The event kicks off with a concert from the Henderson Symphony Orchestra at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water Street. Several local high school choirs will join the orchestra for a night of holiday music.
A visit from Santa Claus, the city's tree lighting, horse-drawn carriage rides, a carousel and a gingerbread house display are all set for Friday night. The festivities are from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza.
The activities on Saturday will start at noon at the events plaza. There will be strolling carolers, the Festival of Trees, pony rides, musical recitals and more activities.
WinterFest Evening Light Parade will top off the celebration. The lighted parade starts at 5 p.m. The procession will roll through the Water Street District.
Admission to the festival is complimentary.
