A landmark casino in downtown Henderson is marking its 50th anniversary this Sunday.
The Eldorado Casino, 140 South Water Street, Henderson, opened its doors July 1, 1962. It was the first venture of Sam Boyd and his son Bill. It was the beginning of what is now Boyd Gaming.
The casino will celebrate its anniversary with a party starting at 3 p.m. Sunday. The party will feature a champagne toast, cake and special giveaways. The casino will also be using limited-edition, commemorative $5 gaming chips.
The property will also kick off several promotions that will go on throughout the rest of the year, including 50 cents specials on at the snack bar. They will also be giving $50 bonus cash to any customer in the bingo hall who wins a game on a “G-50.”
