Northbound lanes of Boulder Highway were closed for much of the morning and were reopened just before 11:30 a.m. Southbound lanes opened around 12:15 p.m.

According to Metro Police, the crash occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. when a speeding Mercedes-Benz collided with a Nissan that was making a U-turn on Boulder Highway at the Russell Road intersection. The force of the crash pushed the Nissan more than 100 yards down Boulder Highway.
