Care Facility Cited for Operating Without License
News, Seniors

A residential care facility in Henderson has been cited by the state for operating without a license.

The State Health Division's Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance led the investigation into the facility at 602 St. Andrews Road. Staff observed three seniors living at the facility; all of them were receiving help with daily task like bathing, eating and taking medications.

This same group home had been cited for operating without a license in January 2011. Clark County Court had issued a preliminary injunction. But the recent follow-up investigation found the facility still operating without a license. The case now moves on to the State Attorney General's office for further prosecution.

Group facilities that operate without a license are subject to serious fines and a potential shutdown of their facilities.
