Henderson Set to Officially Open New Park
Public Spaces

The city of Henderson is holding a grand opening for its newest park.

Hidden Falls Park, 281 W. Horizon Drive, sits on 60 acres. Eighteen of those acres have been developed. The park amenities include a playground, splash pad, dog and skate parks, basketball court, shaded picnic areas and restrooms.  The park will be further developed with tennis courts and a natural amphitheater. Funding for the park came from the Bureau of Land Management’s sale of public lands.

"Hidden Falls Park is nestled against the mountains, and it was designed to blend harmoniously with the natural, rugged look of the area," said Shari Ferguson, assistant director, City of Henderson Parks and Recreation Department. "Residents will especially enjoy the trails and scenic overlooks, which provide a quiet opportunity to reconnect with nature."

The grand opening celebration is at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 7. Mayor Andy Hafen and members of the Henderson City Council are expected at the opening.
