The College of Southern Nevada is giving a group of elementary students a little fun time at the ballpark by hosting the Hinman Elementary School Family Night Out this afternoon.

As part of the CSN Henderson campus/Hinman Elementary Communities In Schools Partnership, Hinman Elementary students and their families will receive free admission to the Coyotes baseball game at Morse Stadium on the CSN Henderson campus (700 College Drive, Henderson).

As an active community partner of Communities In Schools of Nevada (CIS), the leading drop out prevention program in the state of Nevada, the CSN Henderson campus has played an integral role in providing support to students at Hinman Elementary. CSN volunteers have coordinated baseball and softball clinics, participated in Hinman Reading Week, and judged science fairs.

“We know how challenging it can be to find inexpensive family activities. Our goal with Family Night Out is to provide a place for families to get together and have fun,” said Linda Gannon, CIS Partnership Chair for the CSN Henderson campus. “At the same time, we are getting students on campus to give them a glimpse of college life. We want to spark the interest of both the students and parents in higher education.”

Hinman Elementary School Family Night Out will include free admission to CSN’s doubleheader against Colorado Northwestern Community College, food and raffle prizes.
