New Transportation Service for Seniors Launches April 7

Seniors in the Anthem and Seven Hills neighborhoods will have a new transportation option beginning April 7.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) together with ITNLasVegasValley and Easter Seals Southern Nevada recently announced a new door-to-door transportation service for seniors over the age of 60 and paratransit-eligible customers who reside in Henderson. RTC officials handed over the keys to two state-of-the-art paratransit equipped minivans to the service provider ITNLasVegasValley and seniors who live in the community.

"Our partnership with Easter Seals Southern Nevada and ITNLasVegasValley, both non-profit organizations, made it possible for seniors and paratransit-eligible customers in this community to access door-to-door transportation service," said Jacob Snow, RTC general manager. "This service will provide seniors and paratransit-eligible customers with a better quality-of-life because they now have greater freedom and mobility options."

This new transportation service is scheduled to launch on April 7, and will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Trips can be booked for medical appointments, social engagements, shopping, etc. There are no restrictions on the types of services that can be booked. This service is partially funded with RTC grant money provided by the New Freedom Federal Grant.
